Cheryl Hersh
"If it takes a village to raise a child, Cheryl is our mayor!"
The father of two elementary school-age girls made this comment as we concluded a parent coaching session. We started those sessions seeking to improve routines to help this busy family run more efficiently and peacefully. By the end, he and his wife felt equipped to be their best selves individually and together.
I want to help you the same way I helped this family—and hundreds of others during my time as an educator.
Yes, I have been there. I raised two kids of my own, while helping shape the lives of many more through my role as a teacher and school administrator for more than 30 years. Most recently, I shepherded Austin Jewish Academy as its Head of School, following my tenure as a teacher and middle-school principal at Los Angeles’ Pressman Academy.
I saw, and lived, the struggles parents face firsthand. I learned a lot. But I wanted more and just recently obtained my Parent Coach Certification®.
Social and emotional well-being have been at the heart of my life’s work, and I want to put my experience to work for you as a parent coach, not a parenting coach. There’s an important difference. I work with one or both parents to support any type of parenting struggle, focusing on you as a whole person. This isn’t about teaching you how to parent. (Nor is it about me as the boss of you!)
I excel at helping you discover more of your own answers, working with you to build on your existing strengths, and helping you advance towards your ideal future. Expect lots of questions and discussions as we set your new path, together.
