Let’s walk together on this journey

We all want what is best for our children and always strive to do the same. Unfortunately, there is no parenting manual that we can follow for all our children. Most of what we know about parenting we have learned either from our own observation or from our experience with our parents. Today’s parenting, unlike in the ’80s and ’90s, is filled with the challenges of media influences. For adults this may be a great thing as we have the opportunity to go through information and borrow tips here and there for raising children. The adult brain has the capacity to discern. But for children, whose brains are in the process of development, that is not case. Children are not ready to absorb so much information without support and guidance.

Today’s child from a middle-class family often has a smart phone as early as eight years old. As a parent, this comes with challenges of regulation and the need for more guidance and protection from online predators. Parent coaching offers you, as a parent, a platform to discuss, explore, and gain new tools and perspectives to be the best you can be as a parent.

My sessions will equip you with knowledge on how to manage media in the households as well as how to raise your children in your own authentic way. As mentioned, there is no manual for parenting, each parent has their own style personality and way of learning, so do children. As a coach I believe that you are the expert in your own parenting. I will support you to find out what works for you and each of your children and see how you can address your own needs as a parent as well as the needs of your children.

I am a trained counselor and have gained a lot of experience working with parents of children with disabilities as well as other parents. I believe that most of us have deep potential to live our best life as parents and as individuals. I find that with good support we can be anything we want to be. My coaching sessions will provide a safe space for you to explore, appreciate your strengths, and gain new tools to enable you to be at your best while parenting. Throughout the sessions I will support you to see what is already working and help you understand the skills and the tools that you possess. I'll guide you through the process to help you uncover your uniqueness and appreciate your strengths and differences. My main focus will be to ensure that help your children to grow into well-balanced adults while supporting as a parent to refresh and take care of your own mental health.

What Parents Say After Coaching With Me

I am a single mother of one boy, six years old. Before I started working with Lucy as a coach, I struggled to keep a balance between my work, parenting, and self-care. Of course, putting my self-care as a last priority this affected me and those around me as I was always on the edge. My work with her has helped me to create a balance among three areas. I have learned to use my assertiveness to ensure that I am able to get more time at work. I love the fact that I have learned to reflect on myself and the impact of my experiences in everything I do. My son is loving me more as I shout at him less, I guess its all as a result of the balance I have gained. I am generally a happier person.
