I grew up in Singapore, which has a rather strong Asian culture. With parents who were always encouraging and never emphasised academic success, I picked up many soft skills that I am happy to have. I also developed abilities to view things from various perspectives and appreciate little things in life—I think that's what that makes a happy person!

With a decade of experience interacting with young children and working closely with their parents, I gained plenty of knowledge in parenting, including an understanding of the (many) hurdles families face as well as tips to overcome them. My Master of Education (Developmental Psychology) from NIE, NTU has also enriched my knowledge on human development, especially that of children. As I witnessed the struggles that parents have with their children, walked alongside them to cross the obstacles, and saw their successes, I learned one thing: I want to share what I've learned with any parent who wants a fulfilling parenting journey!

What Parents Say After Coaching With Me

I am incredibly grateful for the transformative experience I had during the 3 months of parent coaching with you. It has truly been a life-changing journey, one that has brought answers to my concerns, eased my anxieties, and instilled confidence back into my role as a working mom and a mom of two toddler girls.

Throughout the coaching process, Coach Ting provided invaluable guidance and support, helping me navigate the challenges of balancing work and motherhood. Coach Ting's ability to understand and empathize with my struggles was truly remarkable. I felt heard and understood, which made a world of difference in overcoming my self-guiltiness and insecurities.

What I enjoyed best about having my coach were the personalized approach and tailored advice. She took the time to understand my unique situation patiently, including the different backgrounds my husband and I come from. This allowed us to address any conflicts and ensure that our parenting fundamentals were strong and aligned. Coach Ting's expertise and ability to bridge the gaps between our different perspectives were instrumental in fostering harmony and understanding within our family.

There were several standout moments during our coaching sessions that I will always cherish. Especially when Coach Ting helped me recognize and celebrate my strengths as a working mom. She reminded me of the positive impact I was making on my child's life and encouraged me to embrace my accomplishments.

Thanks to the guidance and encouragement of my coach, I can confidently say that I have witnessed a significant transformation within myself. I have learned to trust my instincts, make decisions without second-guessing myself, and embrace the journey of parenthood with a newfound sense of self-assurance.

Without a doubt, I would recommend (to the fullest) this parent coaching journey to others. It has been an invaluable investment in my personal growth and family dynamics. The guidance, support, and practical strategies provided by my coach have equipped me with the tools and confidence to navigate the challenges of parenting with grace and resilience.

To my coach, thank you for going above and beyond in helping me become the best version of myself as a working mom. I am forever grateful for the positive changes you have brought about in my journey as a parent.

Can’t believe ten weeks of coaching zoomed past so quickly!

There has been two important keywords in this coaching journey which has contributed to a shift in my motherhood philosophy—self-acceptance & self-awareness. Through the entire coaching process, I have come to embrace my parenting style and to better align it to the values I believe and hold through to. This has resulted in me gaining more confidence of my role in our family, as well as a better appreciation of everyone’s role in our family. It was also very important for me to be more aware of my emotions and triggers to brainstorm on ways to help me stay calm, with solutions that are appropriate for my temperament.

First and foremost, I am so thankful that you’re always there to support and not judge me for all the lacking I have as a mother. Instead, you were there to provide an alternative viewpoint and constantly reminded me that every little step to better myself is important and those little small steps in itself is actually a big step! You also pointed traits that are in my blind spots: for example, that I am creative—which I previously would have never thought of describing myself—and gave me ways on how I can flex this strength on mine to better parent my kids.

One of the most impactful moments was doing the quiz to find out my parenting style and how it is actually well-aligned to the values which are important to me. That was a big step in my self-acceptance journey which helped me embrace my role better. It was one of the key factor which resulted in the gain in confidence of my role as a stay-home mother and saw the value of my role in the family.

And (definitely!) I would say the ten weeks of coaching is a journey to a lifetime of constantly being a work-in-progress. The coaching process has helped to build a strong foundation to enable me with the skills to parent the kids better as they grow up.
