I earned my teaching degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Over my 13 year career as a teacher, I enjoyed teaching children of all ages from preschool through 5th grade. I became interested in adult and parent education and began teaching continuing education for teachers through the Professional Development Academy in Austin, Texas. I was also an instructor in an adult education program teaching English as A Second Language to parents in the school district. After the birth of my two daughters, I decided that Parent Coaching was a wonderful opportunity for me to blend my background and experience as a teacher with my interest in parent education. I enjoy parent coaching for the opportunity it gives me to help parents build better relationships with their children. I am currently a partner in Parent Coaching Associates, LLC.

During my ten years as an educator I enjoyed working with parents to help their children reach their full potentials. Entering the PCI program was a natural progression in my work with parents.

As a PCI Certified Parent Coach® I can support parents in a powerful process of growth and change which will help them meet the challenges they face today. Parents who are willing to invest in this process will find that they have more joy in their parenting, are calmer and less frustrated, and lead more conscious, balanced and connected lives. I enjoy coaching parents with children of all ages and am currently a partner in Parent Coaching Associates, LLC.

As a parent have you ever found yourself

  • Pouring all of your attention to one area and ignoring all others?
  • Spreading yourself so thin you feel nothing is successfully accomplished?
  • Feeling like your life is out of control?
  • Feeling frustrated, guilty or inadequate?

I faced many of these challenges as an older parent of young children. In fact, they inspired me to become a parent coach!

Those of us who wait until our mid 30's to start a family or who suddenly find ourselves with young ones are in somewhat of a unique situation. We have established our lives before children arrived on the scene and developed ourselves as adults. We have to work hard to build our new life as parents of young children. Some of us even arrived at parenting in "nontraditional" ways such as adoption, remarriage and other circumstances. We have to work hard to build our new life as parents of young children. We often face challenges balancing our new life as parents of young children with the previous life and may feel pulled in many directions by spouse, career, grown children, established friendships and aging parents.

As your parent coach, I can help you discover and create ways to renew your focus and to establish balance in order to put you back on track. We work together creatively to establish the parent/child relationship and family environment you desire.

My twenty plus years experience as a consultant in the business world, where I have coached and mentored many, has allowed me to hone my listening and leadership skills. I am also adept at wading through the details to get to the core of your concerns. These skills combined with the PCI training contribute to my expertise as a parent coach. It is my goal as a coach to serve as your support mechanism, facilitator, sounding-board and confidant.
