My mission in creating Powerful Parent Advocates is to reach out to mothers and fathers struggling with a diagnosis, label, or issue confronting their children and help them on their parenting journey. I believe that parents know their children best and love them the most. When parents receive the guidance, coaching and support they need, they find the determination, knowledge, and conviction within themselves to be the most powerful and effective advocates for their children in school and throughout life.
You don't have to go it alone. Powerful Parent Advocates is here for you.
I am a passionate advocate for parents of special needs kids and a firm believer that all children have unique gifts to share with their family, school, and community. Having experienced firsthand the overwhelming burden, fear, and constant worry that confronts parents after receiving a devastating diagnosis, label, or report about their child; I know how challenging it can be to navigate the world of special education in our schools and the myriad of therapeutic choices available through private providers. Parents, who keep hope alive, know their children's strengths and needs, and work collaboratively with school and private providers to come up with the right action plan for their child, can achieve great things. I have felt the joy and empowerment that come when parental advocacy works miracles. As your coach, my goal is to help you find it, too.

Almost every parent I know wears many hats…and I am no exception: I am a mother, a doula, a business owner, an educator, and a PCI Certified Parent Coach®. Through the years, these "jobs" have provided me with different perspectives on parenting.
As a mother of three children, I see daily interactions between parents and their children; as a doula, I see and feel the joy that parents experience as their child is born; as a business owner, I hear stories from mothers who are frustrated and overwhelmed by parenting; as an educator, I see and hear positive and negative parent-child interactions; and as a PCI Certified Parent Coach®, I see, hear and feel the joy from parents as they re-establish positive relationships with their children.
I know that being a parent can be physically and mentally exhausting. One minute it can be overwhelming, and the next minute, incredibly rewarding. My passion for and understanding of parenting is what lead me to apply to the PCI. Being accepted into the graduate-level parent coaching program was exciting and revitalizing. I believe that this education, in combination with my life experience, has made me a successful parent coach.

As a PCI Certified Parent Coach® I specialize in working with parents of children birth through elementary school years. Because of my family experience and my education in working with children with special needs, I am also dedicated to coaching parents who are advocating for their child with special needs. I am employed by Child & Family Resources as an Early Care & Education Specialist. I have over 25 years experience in child development. I currently coordinate the Child Development Associate program, a national certificate program for early childhood professionals. I have worked on training programs throughout New Jersey. In addition, I am a Community & Professional Programs Adjunct Educator with the County College of Morris, and an ACT—Adults & Children Together—Against Violence Trained Community Leader.
Being a parent has many rewards, beautiful moments, great sharing, laughs, and love. But, today's world can also make it complicated and stressful. I like to think of the coaching experience as a well that a thirsty parent can come to for refreshment. I am committed to helping parents find their strength and hope, meet their parenting goals, and keep the joy in these precious years.
