As the father of five and as Recreation Specialist for County of Maui Parks and Recreation, I use many skills I have learned from hands-on experience in addition to my year-long training to become a PCI Certified Parent Coach®. I enjoy building strengths in parents, helping them see and value all that they do for their children. I am told my approach is gentle, yet powerful, that my questions are right-on as I listen very carefully and strive to give all my clients a customized experience. We work together and open the door to many possibilities that didn't exist before. I have twenty-five years of experience educating and advising children, adolescents, and adults. My background includes working as a teacher, counselor and dean at the middle and high school levels. I also have extensive experience in the health field. For fourteen years I have run my own accredited personal training business. In working with individuals of all ages, I have realized the importance of addressing all areas of well-being. This includes caring for their emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual health. This led me to become a certified Wellness Coach, to complete a masters-level certification in parent coaching, and to expand my business to work as a Life Coach. Today I coach adults, parents, and teens in one-on-one sessions, in person, over the phone, and via e-mail. I also work with groups.

My passion for Parent Coaching is born out of my personal joy of parenting and fueled by the superb program offered by PCI. PCI's founding principles focus on the power of discovering and paying attention to what is presently working and using each individual's strengths and personal style to help him/her to create a strong and healthy relationship within the family unit. In my work I am continually amazed at the incredible transformations and growth that takes place as parents begin a journey by appreciating what is, and discovering what is possible. With every client I find that I learn and grow as a coach, a parent, and an individual. My clients may expect me to create a safe environment for them by being non-judgmental, attentive, open, honest, encouraging and supportive. Parent Coaching is a process of discovering what works, visualizing a dream, co-designing a plan and celebrating your success.

Areas I specialize in are parental self-care, blended families, and parents of pre-teens and teens.
