PARENT COACHING INSTITUTE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL PROGRAM
Early Application Discounts Available Until August 15, 2008 for First 12 Applicants
BELLEVUE, WA – (July 31, 2008) – The Parent Coaching Institute (PCI), a nationwide non-profit, is now accepting applications for its fall program. The PCI offers a one-year, distance learning graduate certificate program for parent coaching, in collaboration with Seattle Pacific University. Classes are held by phone with at least 3 optional in-person workshops held each year. Each quarter, a select number of applicants enter the program. Applicant requirements include a completed undergraduate degree and at least two years of experience working with parents. The PCI is accepting applications for fall program entrance until September 2, 2008. The first 12 completed applications received by August 15, 2008 will receive a $500 tuition discount. Students in the PCI's Parent Coach Certification® Training Program typically include teachers, social workers, parent educators, counselors, and health workers. These experienced family support providers have found that the PCI's program provides the tools and education they need to offer better support to parents facing a variety of parenting challenges. These parenting challenges include, but are not limited to, balancing work and family, school selection, setting firm boundaries, self-care, single parenting, controlling media influences, making parenting a priority, recognizing appropriate developmental behavior, new baby, and recognizing and celebrating successes.
