David W. Moore
President

David Moore, one of the founders of the Parent Coaching Institute, has contributed his talents and financial resources to the formation and development of the organization over the past nine years. Mr. Moore has 37 years experience in the aerospace industry as a software engineer, with many years experience as supervisor of a technical work group. He has served as a Total Quality Management trainer and facilitator. His expertise in group dynamics and team building, along with his understanding of and commitment to the PCI Vision, are all valuable assets in leading the Board of Directors. As the PCI transitions to a thriving 501c3 organization, Mr. Moore has agreed to stay on as President of the Board for a two-year period, 2009–2011. Mr. Moore, who lives in Bellevue, Washington, is the stepfather to two adult sons. In his leisure time he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time in nature.

Connie Anderson
Treasurer

Connie Anderson lives in Bellevue, Washington with her husband and teenage son. Her daughter's family, including three grandchildren, lives in Stuttgart, Germany. Ms. Anderson brings more than thirty years of business experience to the Board of the Parent Coaching Institute. She is a Certified Commercial Investment Manager, a Certified Property Manager and a Washington State Real Estate Associate Broker and Notary Public. She currently works as a Senior Property Manager with Legacy Partners Commercial in Redmond, Washington. Ms. Anderson is a PCI Certified Parent Coach®, a Stephens Minister in the Episcopal Church, and the sole proprietor of her coaching business, The Joyful Mulligan. In her leisure time, Connie enjoys cooking, gardening, and acoustic guitar.

Dede Barnes
Secretary

Ms. Barnes resides in a small rural town in Northern California where she has lived for over 36 years with her husband, Henry. She is the parent of two adult children and enjoys one grandson whenever she has a chance. Ms. Barnes has been in the education field since 1980. She currently teaches kindergarten at a small school with a geographical outreach of over 500 square miles. Ms Barnes is a PCI Certified Parent Coach® and applies her coaching skills with families at her school. Ms. Barnes has held the office of president of the Evergreen Federation of Teachers Union, and has also served as the organization's treasurer.

Weasie Stewart
Director

Ms. Stewart resides in Dallas, Texas and is the parent of two children. She has more than 23 years experience in application consulting and managed services. Ms. Stewart is currently a senior manager in IBM's Package Application Services group. Ms. Stewart has worked as a consultant for such companies as KPMG, Oracle, and Southwest Airlines. In addition to her career in application services, Ms Stewart is a Stephens Minister and PCI Certified Parent Coach®. A Stephens Minister is a non-denominational, one-on-one, confidential lay ministry that assists people experiencing difficulty dealing with life situations.

Carmine Corino, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®
Director

Carmine Corino, the father of two young children, is a Certified Professional Planner™ professional and founder of Cornerstone Planning Group LLC, headquartered Saddle Brook, NJ. Carmine provides a process that "Clarifies The Win" for his clients and develops a solid plan to achieve his client's goals and objectives. Named "Top Financial Planner" by Consumers' Research Council of America for 2008 and 2009, Carmine is a member of the Greater New Jersey Estate Planning Council, the President's Council for New York Life, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He has been featured in the Star Ledger newspaper for his work in estate planning. In March 2010 he met with members of Congress to discuss the impact financial planning. A leader in his industry, Carmine brings his financial know-how and leadership abilities to the PCI Board of Directors.

Gloria DeGaetano
CEO/Executive Director

As founder of the PCI in 2000, Gloria DeGaetano is considered the originator of parent coaching as a new career path and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Today Show, and other venues. Creator of the visionary PCI curriculum and Parent Coach Certification®, Gloria's passion is to forward the main goal of the institute—to link every parent in the world with a PCI parent coach. She is dedicated to the PCI Vision, and deeply understands the immense importance of parenting well to transform society. Gloria's actively engaged in all aspects of the PCI and works together with her dedicated staff to insure the highest level of training and service to both students and parents.

An internationally acclaimed parent educator and author, Gloria's books and educational materials have been translated into German, Spanish, Danish, Turkish, Korean, and Romanian. A sought-after speaker, Gloria has over 25 years experience encompassing education, consultation, lecturing, and parent coaching. She is the mother of two grown sons. Her work at the PCI is "her play" as nothing brings her more satisfaction than catalyzing parents and professionals into productive action on behalf of parents and children.

Claire Stern
Executive Assistant/Event Manager

Claire brings 17 years experience working for a variety of non-profit organizations, including managing logistics for Experience Music Project's Education Department. Most recently immersed in the oceanographic community of Woods Hole, Massachusetts as Executive Assistant for the President of Sea Education Association, she had the privilege of sailing in sunny French Polynesia as Adult Programs Coordinator.

A Boston native, Claire enjoys bicycling, boating, road trips, and volunteering for various arts associations including Black Rock Arts Foundation and Seattle's HONK! Fest West, founded by her musician son who is also a teacher of autistic children. Claire is very pleased that her return to Seattle led her to The PCI™.

Tracy Patton
Marketing Consultant

With a background in journalism and marketing, Tracy has spent the past 15+ years helping non-profit and for-profit organizations develop content and campaigns that build loyalty and trust and inspire people to take action. She has been heavily involved in early childhood and public education, and believes deeply in The PCI's vision and mission to transform the world by revitalizing parenting.™ Through media and public relations, social networking, strategic planning, and special events, Tracy supports The PCI™ by promoting all the great work its graduates are doing, assisting graduates with their individual and regional marketing efforts, implementing fund-raising campaigns, and positioning The Parent Coaching Institute as the leader in the parent coaching industry.

Pam Mach
Administrative Assistant

Pam Mach is a Seattle native currently living in Bothell, Washington with her husband and two school-aged sons. She attended Whitman College and graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Communications. Pam has a business background in commercial credit and software support. Her volunteer work has included cooperative preschools, PTA, and Boy Scouts. She first encountered the work of Gloria DeGaetano in a moms and infants support group discussion on the effects of media on brain development. Fast forward ten years and Pam is honored to work for the PCI in her administrative support role. She loves to cook, travel, and read.

Geoff Duncan
Information Technology

Geoff is responsible for making sure the PCI is online all the time and leveraging both new and established technologies to support the PCI and its distance learning initiatives. Geoff is also a freelance writer, a musician…and a deep, deep well of trivia. Geoff has a special place in the hearts of PCI grads as he is prompt in making any changes requested on PCI Web site bios.

The Parent Coaching Institute and Seattle Pacific University proudly offer progressive professionals an innovative, year-long learning experience to become a PCI Certified Parent Coach®. At the PCI, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards for parent coach training. As a student in our program, you'll have the unique opportunity to work with a dynamic group of leaders in the parent coaching profession who exemplify the mission of the PCI. Each PCI instructor is carefully selected to ensure the highest delivery of program content to our students. Our course instructors come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and yet, what they have in common is their unwavering commitment to the PCI and their unparalleled level of professionalism and skill. The PCI content course instructors are all adjunct faculty with Seattle Pacific University. All PCI Instructors have gone through the PCI training program and have received Parent Coach Certification®.

Cathy Adams

Cathy received her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University and her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Drake University. She has worked many years as a Child and Family Therapist and Clinical Educator in Child Psychiatry at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Currently building a part-time parent coaching practice while staying at home in Chicago with her three young daughters, Cathy also teaches part-time for the PCI. Her centeredness, warmth, intellect, her amazing leadership skills, and fabulous questioning techniques are just a few of the favorite traits our students appreciate about her. Karen Bierdeman

Karen, also the mother of two young daughters, recently left a successful teaching career to devote all of her time to her parent coaching, speaking, and consulting. Well, not all of her time. Karen teaches several different content courses for the PCI and facilitates Participatory Process Calls each quarter. Karen is our Coordinator for Parent Coaching Pilot Projects, doing an exceptional job interacting with agencies and supporting and mentoring the PCI students who participate in the studies. An accomplished decoupage artist, Karen's cards and plaques are inspired treasures and truly demonstrate her remarkable creativity and that exuberance and passion we all love to be around! Barb Bushey

Barb received her Masters in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University and her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. She has been married for 39 years and has a daughter who is working on her PhD. in nursing. Barb worked for 37 years as an early elementary teacher and consultant to preschools. A recognized national leader in early childhood, Barb has co-authored a popular book with Carleen Glasser on Choice Theory for young children and served on the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards for Early Childhood Education. Barb, now retired from teaching, is currently enjoying coaching a group of four year olds and their parents preparing them for kindergarten. Little people have always had a special place in her big heart. Now the students and staff at the PCI, have the privilege of experiencing that big heart close up. Barb is a steady force for our students, constantly inviting them to increased levels of aliveness in their training. She models full participation well and is an inspiring guide and inspired leader at the PCI. She likes to let everyone know that her teaching with the PCI is "her dream brought to destiny." Dulcie Gretton

Dulcie holds a M. Ed. in Adult and Community Education from the University of Calgary and a B.A. Ho in Sociology from Queen's University. For the past 14 years she has worked in a variety of community contexts supporting parents as a parent educator. Her extensive experience in the design and delivery of parenting programs connected her with parents across a broad spectrum. Through this she became aware of a deeper longing to connect with parents at the heart level, the place from which our best parenting flows. Becoming a parent coach made this possible and she loves to share her joy and enthusiasm for this process with PCI students. In her role as an instructor with the PCI, she readily applies her understanding of the unique needs and strengths of adult learners and counts it a privilege to support PCI students in their journeys toward becoming parent coaches. Dulcie thinks of her work with PCI students, parents, and her own children as a knitting together of soul with role and she consciously creates space for one's wise inner self to speak and be heard. As the first Canadian graduate of the PCI, Dulcie is establishing her part time coaching practice north of the 49th parallel where she and her husband are the proud and transformed parents of 2 daughters (10 and 14 years) and a son (17 years). Roni Stein

Roni treasures participating in the PCI productive community. As an educator for over forty years she has worked in settings from nursery school through university level. Providing environments that address learners' needs is an area of ongoing interest. In particular, she has enjoyed using her study of "the theory of loose parts" as a tool to create dynamic spaces for children that facilitate social-emotional and physical development. She has been both a teacher and administrator and appreciates the challenges of making things work well for all members of a learning community. To that end her studies relate to furthering cultural sensitivity through exploration of key dimensions of cultures. Roni believes in life-long learning and inspires, motivates, and leads both students and staff in authentic self-reflection. Roni's wisdom touches us deeply and inspires all of us to new levels of growth. In addition to her PCI training, her latest ventures include learning about being a grandma and bird watching. Both offer rich opportunities to sharpen observation and listening skills—always priorities for Roni. In addition to teaching for the PCI, Roni has a growing coaching practice that she finds very gratifying.
